malcom Merrit

Malcolm Merritt is a certified personal trainer through Fitness Mentors, a two-time Black Belt, and a four-time North American Sports Karate Association (NASKA) champion. Originally from northern New Jersey, Malcolm has dedicated his life to fitness, martial arts, and helping others unlock their full potential.


As the founder of Merritt Foundational Fitness (MFF), Malcolm is passionate about guiding people toward strength, resilience, and lasting transformation. His training philosophy emphasizes tendon health, injury mitigation, and functional mobility, ensuring clients build a strong foundation while reducing the risk of injury.


Beyond training, Malcolm is a die-hard Knicks fan and thrives on seeing people break through their limits, achieving levels of strength and confidence they never thought possible. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced athlete, Malcolm is here to help you become the best version of yourself.

Specializing in strength training (powerlifting, strongman, general conditioning), body transformations, and fitness tests for military and first responders, I hold a B.S. in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Delaware and certifications as a Personal Trainer (ACE) and Nutrition Coach (NASM). I’ve coached America’s Strongest Teen, Cai Hepner, secured three podium finishes at America’s Strongest Teen with Patrick Levia and Cai Hepner, and helped Bradie Crandall qualify for the Arnold, placing 9th in their national debut. I’ve also guided Rocky Raposelli to a 5th place finish at Amateur Nationals. As an athlete, I’ve been Delaware’s Strongest Man, competed in Strongman Corporation Nationals, and participate in local powerlifting and Olympic lifts recreationally.
